Understanding Roles in Genira

In Genira, every user is assigned a role that determines what they can and cannot do within an Organisation account.

Roles are assigned when a user is invited to join an Organisation, but they can be changed later if needed.

Note: A user can only have one role at a time.

Available Roles

Genira supports the following roles:

  1. Owner
  2. Admin
  3. User

Role Descriptions & Permissions

1. Owner

The Owner has full access to everything Genira offers for their Organisation.

Special Restrictions:

  • Cannot delete their own member account unless they first promote another member to the Owner role.
    • Example: If the current Owner is leaving but wants the Organisation to continue, they must first promote another member to Owner before closing their own account.
  • If the Owner intends to delete the entire Organisation account, they do not need to promote another member.

Unique Capabilities:

  • Delete the Organisation’s Genira account.

2. Admin

The Admin role focuses on managing Organisation-wide settings and members, while still having all the abilities of a User.

Limitations Compared to Owner:

  • Cannot delete the Organisation account.
  • Cannot assign the Owner role or change the role of another Admin.
  • Cannot remove the Owner from the Organisation.

Key Capabilities:

  • Invite and manage members of the Organisation.
  • Assign or edit roles (except Owner and Admin roles).
  • Add, edit, or delete templates.
  • Set up or edit payment details.
  • Purchase credits for the Organisation.
  • Perform all actions available to the User role.

3. User

The User role is designed for day-to-day operation of Genira without the ability to change Organisation-wide settings.

Key Capabilities:

  • Upload scans to Genira.
  • Download or reject generated models.
  • View all scans uploaded to the Organisation’s Genira account.
