Getting Started with Genira

Genira is a dental model generation platform designed to work with your intraoral scans.

This guide covers the basics of cases, scan requirements, model generation, templates, processing times, and credits.


📂 Cases and Scans

A case refers to a single that is to be generated.

  • A case is composed of a and/or mandibular intraoral scan.

📏 Intraoral Scan Requirements

  • Supported file types: .STL and .PLY

    Alignment:

    Scans must be aligned according to their bite registration.

    • This is usually handled by your intraoral scanner software.
    • Alignment can be lost if the files are modified in other software before uploading to Genira.
  • Quadrant scans:

    Not currently supported.


⚙️ How to Generate Models

  1. Click Create to open the Upload Scans window.

    Select an existing Template or create a new one, see Creating/Editing Templates for details.

    Drag and drop one or more cases into the upload area.

    • See Supported Folder Structures for details.

      Genira will automatically detect maxillary and mandibular scans.

    • A warning will appear if a scan cannot be detected.

      Click Process to start .

      Once processing is complete:

    • Download designs by selecting cases and clicking
    • Reject designs to return the credits held for the case back to your balance.

🗂 Templates

Templates store preferences for design features, such as:

  • Attachments
  • Text (embossed or engraved)
  • Solid/Hollow model

💡 Templates can be saved for future use and deleted when no longer needed.

✏️ Text on Models

  • The case name is used as the text imprinted on the design.

    Placement:

    • With attachments→ text appears on the back of the pillar base.
    • Without attachments → text appears on the front of the .
  • Styles: Embossed or Engraved.
  • Length limit: If the text is too long, it will be truncated.

⏱ Processing Time

  • Typical processing time:

    3–6 minutes

    per design.

  • May take up to

    20 minutes

    for complex cases.

  • High-resolution scans take longer to process.
  • Poor-quality scans may delay processing or, in extreme cases, cause processing to fail.

💳 Credits

  • Credits are held for each processed case.
  • Credits are consumed when a design is downloaded.
  • Credits are returned if a design is rejected.
